Activity Assistant - Te Atatu

The Te Atatu Activity group is looking for a volunteer/s to help out once a week. The group meets on a Monday from 1.00-2.30pm. Volunteers arrive half an hour earlier to help with setting up and stay after the group to pack up. The group takes part in a fun blend of activities ranging from games and hands on activities. The role will require the volunteer to support the clients, help out organising activities and participating if needed.
Dementia Auckland supports people with dementia and their family/whanau through a range of services across the greater Auckland region. We believe that with the most up to date support programmes and connections to community, people affected by dementia can continue to live a full and enjoyable life.

Requirements:

Excellent communication and people skills. Able to show compassion, empathy and kindness. Able to commit to the duration of the programme.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

3-4 hours per week. Monday afternoons 12.30-3.00pm
