Care home residents often struggle with feelings of loneliness. Animals can bring a unique sense of comfort and joy to these residents. We are looking for kind-hearted volunteers who can spend an hour per week (or fortnight) at a care home in the Greenlane (Auckland) area visiting care home residents with their friendly animal.

Requirements:

Volunteers must have their own well-trained pet that they can introduce to residents. We would most appreciate volunteers that can visit for an hour per week, or an hour every fortnight, preferably between the hours of 10am-5pm Monday through Sunday.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Preferably 1-2 hours per week or per fortnight, though monthly is also possible
