Front of House/ Ushering for Shakespeare in the Park 2025

Shoreside Theatre Incorporated
Events | Evenings/Weekends | Takapuna
18 January 2025 to 15 February 2025

Shoreside Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park Season is an institution on the North Shore every January/February.
This year marks the 29th season and they need your help!

We are looking for people to usher the shows - making sure people get seated, handing out programmes, assisting patrons who may have accessibility needs, making sure patrons don't 'invade the stage' before the show and during interval and helping to clear up the amphitheatre after the shows.
Full training will be given on the night by PumpHouse Staff

We also need a Front of House manager for some of the shows - their main role is to help the stage managers get the shows to start on time at the start and after interval (and ring the bell!) and to keep the courtyard clear of random people during the show so the actors don't get hassled. Full Training will be given. Most of the FOH evenings will be for Taming of The Shrew.

Requirements:

Warm, friendly approachable manner.
Good with people.
Good at following instructions.
Prepared for anything!
Smart casual dress.

Time commitment:

Each Ushering shift will be from 6.30 - 10.30 approximately.
Each Front of House Manager shift will be from 6.15 - 10.30 approximately.
The season starts on Saturday 18 January and runs until 15 February.
The two shows (Richard lll and Taming of the Shrew) are on alternate evenings with the exceptions of Sunday 26th January and Sunday 2nd February which are 2 indoor matinees starting at 2pm (so shifts will start earlier).
(show dates and times can be found here https://pumphouse.co.nz/whats-on/show/auckland-shakespeare-in-the-park-25 )

There are NO SHOWS on Mondays 20/27 Jan and 3 Feb 2025.
