Board Secretary role available - Upper Harbour

The Upper Waitemata Ecology Network (UWEN) is a network of locally based conservation groups doing the mahi, supported by a small team of paid contractors. We have a wonderfully diverse, incredibly talented and very passionate group of people sitting around a table once a month to plan for the future of the organisation, tackle the bigger picture and work on some exciting future plans. We are looking for someone to join us and help keep the admin side of things in order and make sure we are all on track to deliver what we say we will.

We are looking for someone to capture the awesome ideas, action points and key decisions that are made, and of course, to join in the conversations.

Requirements:

We meet monthly on Thursdays in the early evening (5.30pm start typically) in the Rosedale or Hobsonville area and whilst we do offer for people to join online, we would much prefer the secretary to be there in person to make note taking easier. It would be fantastic if you were local to Upper Harbour and were vaguely familiar with conservation work in NZ.

Ability to take succinct notes, capture the general discussion and use google drive are all we ask for. A sense of humour helps, as does maybe some basic understanding of conservation but we love to share so happy to upskill you here if you want.

Time commitment:

2 hours a month for meetings, maybe 1 - 2 hours on setting the agenda and finalising the minutes and then some emails will come through over the month as well as part of the general strategy team communications.

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
