Running a kiosk on a Hauraki Gulf Island

Presently our kiosk is open a couple of hours in the afternoon of each day we have a ferry and longer hours once summer kicks in and boaties are around. Ideally, we would like to have extended hours so need more people to help. Ferry fare return is covered, and we provide accommodation if it is available for people who are able to run the kiosk for more than 1 day.

Requirements:

You need to be a person who enjoys interacting with the public but also has attention to detail to ensure that sales are correctly entered and is trustworthy as you will be managing cash as well as card-based sales and will need to cash up accurately at the end of each day. The Rotoroa Island Trust will train you in the role and will expect you to do it with no supervision as the island can be very busy.

Because we are a semi remote island, we need personnel who interact with our island staff to be fully vaccinated.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

4-5 hours lunch time to when last ferry leaves

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by applying directly to the organisation. You will then be able to find out more about the role and how to proceed.
