Evening Duty Support - Grafton Mews

The House runs 24/7 and the front desk is operational between 7am – 11pm with new families arriving and leaving during this time so an extra pair of hands and ears for our staff to call on is always appreciated!
Your role is to support and assist the Duty Manager with a variety of tasks. You may at times also be required to help our housekeeping staff.
Tasks include but not limited to:

  • Assisting the Family Support Coordinator with any required tasks
  • Assisting families with any requests (please ask if you are not sure)
  • Delivering port-a-cots, push chairs and extra linen to families
  • Putting things away in storage cupboards and tidying up as required
  • Monitoring the use of games, computers, PlayStation and Xbox
  • Checking on Dinner Groups if there is no dinner host, taking family orders to dinner group and helping with leftover food if needed
  • Light housekeeping duties as you see needed e.g., disinfecting door handles, toys, lift buttons
  • Driving families/deliveries with House Previa if comfortable
  • Lending games, DVDs
  • Sorting, tidying and playing in the playroom/lounge/dining
  • Small computer/admin tasks if needed
Requirements:

We require volunteers with a positive attitude and great communication skills. You will also have a friendly face and a ready smile and comfortable saying hello and having a chat to families, have a caring and supportive nature as well. If you’re someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and lend a hand then this is the perfect role for you.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

This role is during the evening: 5pm - 8pm. Fortnightly Monday - Thursday.
