Treasurer

The committee are responsible for governance and day to day management of Lonely Miaow. We are looking for a volunteer Treasurer to join the committee to oversee its financial affairs, including: overseeing & building accounts team, reconciling bank statements, managing cash flow, GST returns, procurement and donations management.

The Treasurer should be knowledgeable about who has access to funds and any outstanding bills or debts owed. The role will include bank account signing authority, expense reimbursement, and when required helping the team with coding and/or processing of AP invoices.

This role will be responsible for developing structured reporting, preparation of an annual budget, and formalizing our financial policies. The Treasurer is also responsible for the the completion of required financial reporting forms (as part of the Annual Incorporated Societies return).

Requirements:

• Previous treasurer of a charity experience preferred. • Experience with, good financial management and reporting practices. .
• An appreciation of the kind and level of financial information needed at a committee level to support decision making.
• Experience working with and managing teams of volunteers would be an advantage
• An ability to commit the time required to fulfill the responsibilities described.

Time commitment:

Due to the nature of cat rescue and the cyclical nature of 'seasons' we are generally busier during the summer months, with a lull in winter.

The role is key to the future success of Lonely Miaow and will require a reason investment of time, approx. 10 hours a week initially. This is likely to reduce once teams have been fully built and processes implemented.
