NCEA level 2 & 3 Chemistry mentor

This is part of Laulotaha Mentoring Programme - an innovative education programme for Pasifika learners to succeed. It is an unique and innovative one-on-one mentoring programme delivered by volunteers within a family, cultural and community/church context. Laulotaha mentoring is for Year 1 to Year 13 learners and it’s free. Laulotaha is twice a month in the evening from 6 to 8pm during term.
Laulotaha was established in Auckland in 2012 when its founder signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Northcote College, witnessed by Hon Hekia Parata, the Minister of Education and Minister of Pacific Islands Affairs at the time.
Despite the global covid19 pandemic 2020 lockdowns and uncertainties, Laulotaha persisted and enjoyed some exciting growth due to leadership’s and stakeholders’ (schools, families, volunteer mentors) resilience, passion, and commitment.
Laulotaha Ikuna shall always be indebted to the more than 100 volunteer mentors every year recruited by Volunteering Auckland for their generosity, commitment and passion in supporting our children succeed.
