Workshop Assistance for Young People with Disabilities

We run workshops in different areas of Auckland that each requires two or three dedicated volunteers to help supervise and support young people with disabilities in a singing, dancing or drumming workshop. The workshop is run by a tutor and volunteers are there to support the tutor and young people ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the participants.

We are looking for volunteers for:
Albany on Monday evenings
Pukekohe on Monday evenings
Takaanini on Monday evenings
Western Springs on Tuesday evenings
Manurewa on Tuesday evenings
Papatoetoe on Wednesday evenings
and Pakuranga on Thursday evenings

Requirements:

A love of music, young people and fun!
All volunteers must be 17 years or older.
No specific experience or abilities are required.
A one hour orientation session, plus ongoing support, is provided to all workshop volunteers.
CV and police vet required

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Commitment: The workshops are held on a regular week night during the school terms from 6:30 to 8:00pm (volunteers will need to attend from 6:15pm-8:15pm). The role is best suited to someone who can commit to regular involvement of one night per week during the StarJam term. This role is Wednesday evenings.
