AFS NZ Auckland Airport Volunteer
Airport Greeters and Support Team Members
AFS Intercultural Programs has been connecting young people throughout the world with intercultural learning opportunities for over 75 years.
As participants on our exchange programmes arrive or depart from Auckland airport, we need a few keen and supportive volunteers who can help to meet these young people and support them to navigate Auckland airport.
This can involve:
Greeting students arriving at either the Auckland International Terminal or Domestic Terminal, and showing them to the check in area
Meeting students arriving off domestic flights, and assisting them to transfer to the International Terminal
Supporting students to navigate the airport
Contacting AFS if there are any issues
Supporting families farewelling a student – this can be an emotional time, so empathy is a must
Requirements:
Some light activity involved, moving between the Auckland Airport Terminals via the provided walkways
Carrying a mobile phone to ensure you can be reached in case of any issues with flights
Time Commitments:
Each volunteering opportunity would be between 1-3 hours of time commitment
