GirlGuiding NZ Unit Leader - Ariki Guides

We want more good people to come and do great things with us at GirlGuidng NZ. We would love you to join our passionate and supportive team in a well-established, long-standing organisation with growth potential. No experience is needed, but we need reliable volunteers, and previous experience working with youth is an advantage. You will be given FREE leadership training and mentoring, and all uniforms will be provided. There is no personal cost to you to volunteer. Requirements:

As a volunteer, you will Have a passion for inspiring girls and young women to reach their full potential and learn new skills. Be encouraging, assertive, and patient. Be a hands-on leader and learner; Meet new people and become part of a worldwide network. During the school term, our GGNZ leaders Attend a weekly session (in person) for up to two hours. Help plan the term’s activities and deliver them to the girls—complete occasional evening/weekend training as required. Attend periodic leader/planning meetings and trips or camps. GirlGuiding New Zealand’s Health and Safety policy also has requirements around adult-to-child ratios, so we need you to be older than 18.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We are urgently recruiting for Leaders in the following unit: Ariki Guides - Meets: Tuesday 18:00-20:30 at Griffin Avenue Guide Hall, 13 Griffin Avenue, Epsom, Auckland, 1023, during school term time. Aside from the weekly meetings, there is the occasional event or camp on the weekend and some planning. You can expect to spend 2 hours and occasionally up to 4 hours per week volunteering. We also require a minimum six-month commitment.
