WARC Treasurer

The treasurer will oversee the monitoring of the organisation’s finances on behalf of the whole board of trustees, to report regularly on them to the board, and to make sure that money and property are properly managed. They will ensure that bookkeeping, record keeping, and budgeting are done properly. This includes:

  • Preparing a budget and monitor it carefully utilising Xero
  • Liaising with any professional advisors
  • Liaise with our bank
  • Keeping books up to date using Xero
  • Keeping a proper record of all payments and monies received
  • Making sure financial reports are available and understood at all committee meetings.
  • Showing evidence that money received is banked and documentation provided for all money paid out
  • Ensuring that information for an audit is prepared each year.
  • Ensuring financial obligations are met
  • Attending board meetings and sharing up to date financial reports
  • Produce an annual financial report.
  • Send out accounts
  • Pay the bills
Requirements:

For this role you will need to have:

  • Experience from an accounting and finance perspective
  • Experience or willingness to learn Xero.
  • Strength in organisation.
  • Can allocate regular time periods to maintain the books.
  • Keeps good records
  • Works in a logical, orderly manner
  • Is aware of the information that needs to be kept for the annual audit
Time commitment:

This is a voluntary role, working fluctuating hours depending on needs.
