Resident support and housekeeper liaison

As a committee member with 5 others you will help with the management of a purpose-built Abbeyfield house shared by 12 older residents. Abbeyfield is a national charity run by volunteers which aims to enhance the quality of life for older people by providing affordable shared rental housing. We have a network of houses throughout New Zealand which enable independent older people to live in a safe supportive environment in the company of others.

Requirements:

An empathy for older people is a desirable pre-requisite. Engagement with residents and housekeepers is required from time to time to help ensure that the house operates in a safe and friendly way. You would be part of a great team of people. A police background check is required.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Approximately two hours or so per week visiting the house plus feedback at two monthly committee meetings.
