Support Companion

Amitabha Hospice Service is seeking volunteers to join our team of community support companions. Our amazing volunteers come from all backgrounds and from all over the city (and the world) and are essential to Amitabha Hospice Service in providing support to many people in Auckland.

Amitabha Hospice coordinates free compassionate companionship and practical support to elderly and incurably ill people of any age in their own homes. The service is provided by specially trained and supervised volunteer support companions throughout the greater Auckland area.

As an Amitabha support companion you can make a huge difference to someone’s quality of life by visiting them for a few hours each week on an ongoing basis. The role is rewarding and interesting in many ways and a great way to give back within your own community. Our small coordination team provides training and ongoing support and supervision.

Training course dates:
Wednesday, 27th March to Wednesday, 1st May 2024, 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm
