Toy Library Returns Assistant

● Are you a big kid at heart?
● Do you have a passion for toys and games?
● Do you enjoy being around kids?
● Are you a supporter of borrowing versus buying?
● Do you want to support families to play together?
● Do you want to give back to your local community?
● Or perhaps you just love tidying and organising?

If the answer to any of the above questions is “yes”, then West Auckland Community Toy Library has a great volunteer opportunity for you.

ABOUT US: West Auckland Community Toy Library offers members a choice of 1000’s of toys to take out on loan for a small fee and a low cost annual membership. We want to make all toys accessible to all and to encourage play. From duplo, to bikes, water play kits, games, trains sets, playdough tools, jigsaws and slides - there are a treasure trove of delights to engage and educate babies to tweens. We are proud to have served our community for over 30 years!

VOLUNTEER DUTIES are mainly counting the parts of all returned toys and logging them back into the library system. The items then need returning to the shelves and we need help keeping the shelves neat and tidy. It is a simple straight-forward role that would suit youth and adults of a wide range of ages (minimum age 14 years old). No previous experience required, but attention to detail, an organised approach and a friendly personality would help.

You will work in a fun, friendly, relaxed environment engaging with children, their parents, grandparents and caregivers. The toy library is set in a quiet peaceful location with free parking out front and the beach at the end of the road for a pre/post-work wander.
