Communications Manager for our Management Committee

Mothers Helpers is seeking a talented and dedicated Communications Manager to join our Management Committee. As the Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing our organization's communication strategy, ensuring effective and engaging communication with our stakeholders and the public, and overseeing our staff and volunteers in their execution of the communication strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan to promote our organisation's mission and goals
  • Give guidance to the creation of clear and compelling content for various platforms, including website, social media, newsletters, and press releases
  • Give direction to those managing and maintaining our organisation's social media presence and engagement with our online community
  • Coordinate and oversee the production of marketing materials such as brochures, annual reports, and promotional videos
  • Contribute to media relations in the form of pitching stories, arranging interviews, and preparing press releases
  • Collaborate closely with the rest of the Management Committee to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation across all communications
  • Monitor and analyse communication efforts, utilizing data and feedback to improve strategies and outcomes
Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail

  • Strong ability to create engaging and persuasive content tailored to different audiences

  • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools

  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

  • Knowledge of graphic design and video editing software is a plus

  • Preference for experience in media relations, including press release writing and relationship building with journalists but not essential

Time commitment:

Management Committee meetings will be approximately 2hrs per month and along with your attendance you will need to read any documentation related to the meeting prior to the meeting. In addition, because there is a small amount of involvement in Operations by the Management Committee members, there will be an expectation of approximately 2hrs voluntary work per week towards the roles described above.
