Red Cross Meals on Wheels Driver - Glendowie depot
Our Meals on Wheels service supports older, ill, and disabled people living at home who would otherwise struggle to provide healthy meals for themselves. We need volunteers keen to deliver hot meals and a friendly chat, to people in need across New Zealand.
Shifts start and end at the meal pick-up point near Glendowie Park in Glendowie.
Meal pick-up time is 11:15am Monday to Friday.
Meals from the Glendowie depot are delivered in Glendowie, St Heliers, St Johns, Glen Innes, Stonefields, Meadowbank, Remuera, Point England, Panmure and Mount Wellington areas.
We need five volunteers each weekday.
Your tasks are to pick up chilly bins containing meals in your car, deliver meals to people and have a brief chat at the door, return chilly bins to the depot and go home feeling good that you’ve helped someone out today.
Petrol vouchers are available after a designated number of routes have been completed (or can be donated back to support the programme).
Contact your Meals on Wheels coordinators for more information.
