Translation Proofreader

Insight Endometriosis is a charity that supports people in New Zealand to make their own decisions about the treatment and management of their endometriosis. Each person's experience of endometriosis is different and Insight Endometriosis provides information guides provide evidence-based information, as well as helpful tips from those that have lived experience of endometriosis.

They are looking for a proofreader to check and proofread translated versions of this information.

As the Insight Endometriosis Translation Proofreader you will

  • work independently to proofread translated written material, such as our brochure about endometriosis and information guides
  • help overcome language and cultural barriers with written information
  • make vital information about endometriosis and support services available to the wider community
  • empower and positively impact the community by making information more accessible

People are needed that can proofread in the following languages:
• Croation
• Czech
• Danish
• Dutch
• German
• Hawaiian
• Italian
• Irish
• Maltese
• Māori
• Punjabi
• Romanian
• Serbian
• Swahili
• Tamil
• Thai

The following languages require people to be able to provide a written translation from English to the language:
• Fijian
• Kiribati
• Niue
• Rotuman
• Samoan
• Tokelau
• Tonga
• Tuvalu

Requirements:

Ideally you are fluent in the language that is being proofread.
Alternatively, at least reasonable experience in the language that is being proofread is still helpful
Good experience in written English
Technically savvy
Access to own computer and internet
Experience using Canva is preferrred but training can be provided for those who are technically savvy
Excellent interpersonal skills

Time commitment:

There will be flexibility with your schedule and the time it takes will depend on what you are able to proofread.
