Social Media coordinators

Doughnut Economics Advocates New Zealand (DEANZ) is an advocacy group for people who are concerned about the threat to the ecological balance presented by climate change and environmental degradation, and the threat to the social balance presented by the relentless pursuit of GDP growth. Our goal is to encourage attitude and behavioural change from a growth-led to a sustainability-led economy through effective communication and education.

You will be helping us with our Repair Café initiative. A Repair Café is an event where people bring their loved broken or damaged items to be fixed for free, saving money and reducing the amount of material that ends up in landfill.

Requirements:

We have several Repair Cafés across Auckland and you will be advertising these events on various social media platforms for us.

You will be assisting us with:
Managing and monitoring our social media accounts, including Facebook, eventfinda, eventbrite, etc
Engaging with our social media followers, responding to comments and messages, and building our online community
Creating engaging social media content, including graphics, videos, and written content, that aligns with our brand and mission

You do not need any experience however right volunteer needs to be a user of these platforms. Ideally you will also have eperience with Facebook adds and facebook pages.

Time commitment:

This is a very flexible position. Ideally 2hrs/month to 2hrs/week depending on how involved you would like to be. This can either be done in 1hr bursts twice a week or various 5- 10 min bursts throughout the day/week. You can be as independent as you wish to be, and you will be fully supported by our project managers and business development officers.
