Playgroup Assistant - Mairangi Bay

Working with our playgroup coordinator in the running of playgroup and assisting her as needed. This may include:
Setting up and packing down the playgroup
Assisting with playgroup activities - arts and crafts, games, music
Greeting whanau and welcoming them to the group
Ensuring health and safety requirements are met
Small admin tasks as requested by staff
Packing up and cleaning at the end of the session

Our playgroup provides a range of educational activities to enhance tamariki in their ongoing learning and development. Our playgroups include facilitating activities such as a story session, music session, play dough and painting and craft activity. it is also an environment where we encourage parents and caregivers to make connections.

Requirements:

Great communication skills
Warm and welcoming personality
Confident in working with children and caregivers
Must be reliable and able to maintain confidentiality
Comfortable working with all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds
Physically fit

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Minimum three hours per week. Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings, 9am-12 noon.

Playgroups run during school term time only.
