Workshop Assistance for Young People with Disabilities
We run workshops in different areas of Auckland that each requires two or three dedicated volunteers to help support young people with disabilities in a singing, dancing or drumming workshop. The workshop is run by a tutor and volunteers are there to support the tutor and young people ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the participants. We are looking for volunteers for our dancing workshop in Pukekohe, Auckland held on Monday nights 6:15pm-8pm. Our vollies describe StarJam as the highlight of their week! Please check to see if there is a night/location that would work for you, we need our fabulous volunteers for our workshops to go ahead.
A love of music, young people and fun! All volunteers must be 17 years or older. No specific experience or abilities are required. An orientation session, plus ongoing support, is provided to all workshop volunteers.
The workshops are held on a regular week night during the school terms from 6:30 to 8:00pm (volunteers will need to attend from 6:15pm-8:15pm). The role is best suited to someone who can commit to regular involvement of one night per week during the StarJam term (8 weeks).
