Driver
We know you will be a confident, experienced fully licensed driver for this volunteer role, rest assured, you’ll be doing so much more than just getting someone from their home to hospital.
Being in direct contact with a client who has been diagnosed with cancer, with your empathetic nature, you will be helping them to receive the vital support and treatment they need.
You will thrive on been organised and punctuality will be your middle name, as you’ll need to liaise with clients about pick up and drop off times, and connect with our volunteer driving service team to ensure that every assignment runs smoothly.
As part of our 4000-strong network of volunteers nationally, you will join this important group of Cancer Society volunteers who make a difference to people and their whanau living with cancer.
For the generosity of your time, we do offer a small contribution towards your mileage and you get to choose when you are available for our 2-4 hour drives during normal Monday to Friday business hours- so you can still have that lifestyle balance while doing some good!

Key Requirements:
Ability to work comfortably with people of all social, religious and cultural backgrounds.
Understand and respect the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
Ability to maintain boundaries and respect confidentiality.
A caring and sensitive manner.
Reliable and flexible.
Be an experienced and safe driver.
Access to a reliable and tidy vehicle that is road-worthy, registered, insured and has a current Warrant of Fitness.
