Home Tutor of English

Help refugees and new migrant adults learn English to live independently and participate in NZ society.
Full training and on-going support provided.
Volunteers are placed with learners close to where they live in South and East Auckland.


Volunteers must have a good understanding of everyday spoken English, good English writing skills, and be happy to share NZ culture and knowledge about services in the community. Have an interest in other cultures. We welcome other migrants as tutors also.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

If you live in South or East Auckland, training starts February 17 and continues for 6 Fridays finishing on March 24 - 9:30- 2:00pm. After initial training is complete, 1-2 hours weekly teaching learners.
