After School Care Helpers - Mt Albert

We aim to be the place to be if you are not at school or home!
Our YMCA Centre programme collects children from the local primary school Marist Primary and walks them back to the centre where we have afternoon tea before activities. Our School Programme remains onsite in the Mt Albert Primary School Hall. Some of our children will go off to our recreation programmes, but the majority stay in After School Care where we do set activities that fall under the categories of Active, Creative and Life Skills. Our volunteers assist with these activities and also provide supervision, and are a friendly ear for children to talk to.

Requirements:

Good physical health is important as the YMCA Mt Albert programme collects children from school so does require a walk to and from the school.
We are looking for people with enthusiasm, empathy and good communication skills.

Please note; it is a YMCA and MSD requirement that all applicants must submit a CV, complete an application form and have two reference checks.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Programme runs 2:45pm-6pm Monday - Friday. We ask that volunteers commit to at least one day per week across a term (10 weeks). This is due to our training requirements, and consistency for our children

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
