Mr, Ms and Mrs 'Fix-Its'

At Ronald McDonald House we provide a home away from home for families travelling to hospital with their child who needs specialist treatment. As with all households, there is always something that needs fixing, maintaining or sorting out. Can you change a lightbulb? Can you fix a wonky shelf or paint a wall? If so we would love for you to join us for a few hours a fortnight to help our hardworking team keep our House in order. The impact you will make from those few hours is huge, providing a welcoming environment for our families and for them to feel comfortable and 'at home'. You just can't put a price on it.


Practical people who are able to turn their hand to anything to help out. Experience of being in a maintenance or caretaker role is an advantage but not essential. If you're the person in your household who fixes things or keeps everything in working order then this role is for you. No 'specialist' training or qualifications are needed, you won't be required to do specific skilled maintenance jobs such as plumbing unless you're qualified to do so. You would become part of the maintenance team of staff and fellow volunteers and also part of the greater Ronald McDonald House whanau.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Minimum of three hours per fortnight, during the hours of 7am - 4.30pm Monday to Sunday.
