Mentor for Young People
Do you want to make the differece for a young person to thrive and find confidence within themselves?
Do you want to have a positive impact on a young person just by simply hanging out and having fun?
At Upside, we are passionate about Rangatahi finding brightness in their world, developing resilience, and knowing that someone always has their back.
We support young people aged 9-13 across Auckland who have been referred to us by schools who believe a positive role model is just the thing this young person needs! As an Upside mentor, you will journey alongside a young person for a couple of hours a week for at least 12 months.
We are always on the lookout for people who want to make a difference in the life of a young person and is eager to see change amongst young people and are willing to walk alongside them to see their lives transformed.
If you are willing to meet with a young person once a week, and want to commit that to bringing brightness into a young persons world, one hangout at a time, we would love to kōrero!

We do require Upside mentors to have a full drivers licence and vehicle, and must be willing to undergo a police check.
As an Upside mentor, you'll commit to meeting with your young person once a week for 12 months. This consistent support and guidance provide a stable foundation for these young individuals, who greatly benefit from having a mentor showing up each week and present in their lives.
We understand the importance of support and guidance for our mentors as well. Upside provides training, a dedicated Mentoring Coordinator for ongoing support ensuring you have the tools and resources needed to thrive in your role. We believe that together, we can create a safe and nurturing environment for these young people to thrive.
