Financial Mentor / Budget Advisor

We are in need of a volunteer to share money management tools and advice. You will work with people who want to improve their financial situation. This position is to work out of the Massey citizens advice bureau, inside the Te Manawa library at Westgate. Training is provided and the aim of the advisor is to enable clients to take effective control of their own financial affairs.

Good listening skills; the ability to ask for help; work within a team environment; a good understanding of the English language; communicate well; a positive and non-judgmental attitude; work sensitively and appropriately with a range of cultural and ethnic groups and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment is 3 hours per week with some flexibility and a twenty-four month commitment is required.
