Hospice Retail Role - Massey

From February we will be operating 7 days per week and are looking for people to join our team at Massey Hospice Op Shop. We are looking for volunteers who can support us on either Sunday or Monday.

You will learn how to interact with customers, sort and price goods, and even work at the counter operating the till if that's of interest. It's a varied role, however, we won't ever get you to do things that you aren't comfortable with either. It's a supportive team and Helen really looks after her volunteers. All successful applicants will be expected to complete retail volunteer training in-store.

All of the funds raised through our second-hand stores, go back into providing free end-of-life care for our patients and their families in our West Auckland community when they need us. If you have a passion for retail and enjoy working with people come to talk to us about your next voluntary role!


Reliability is essential as our stores run on a lean roster of volunteers. The more volunteers we have, the better our shops can operate. You will have a friendly, helpful and 'can-do' attitude, someone who is bright, enthusiastic, energetic and positive. Experience in a customer-facing role would be helpful.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We expect the role to take 3-4 hours of your time per week. One shift per week is our minimum requirement, however if you want to do more, great! This is an ongoing role and we are looking for a 6 month commitment.
