Mentor for Year 1-8 Literacy and Numeracy
This role involves working with Pasifika Year 1 to 8 primary school children in literacy and numeracy. The aim is for Pasifika learners to have advanced literacy and numeracy skills to prepare them well for College.
Sessions are 6 - 8pm during the week twice a month. Mentoring centres are at Wesley College Pukekohe, Aorere College Papatoetoe, Panmure Community Centre, Marcellin College Royal Oak, Sandringham, Northcote College, Rutherford College Te Atatu.
We are looking for people with an ability to help primary school children gain advanced literacy and numeracy skills, and a passion to make a difference for the children and their families. Appropriate skills and experience in teaching would be a bonus but we need people with a passion for challenge and innovation in education, and to go the extra mile with the learner.
Minimum 1 hour and maximum 2 hours (6-8pm) during the week and only twice a month during school term ie only 4 - 5 mentoring sessions a term, at one of our mentoring centres. We are also flexible but ongoing commitments are a bonus and always appreciated.
