Writer - Life Reviews

Life Reviewing is a unique and special role; it is about capturing stories, memories and creating legacy documents and artefacts for people living with a life-limiting illness.

This role requires thoughtfulness, integrity, compassion and a genuine interest in listening to the person’s stories, memories and hopes for those they will leave behind. You will transcribe and document this information with care and accuracy.

Life Reviews might be in the form of a scrapbook with photographs and mementos, or a formal document with a story-like format. The role could even involve help with writing letters to pass on to family members, friends or children not yet born. These legacy materials might even be presented in a video form. Working collaboratively with the patient and family, there are many creative options you can develop together.

Life Reviewing can be an emotionally challenging role, so a willingness to sit with the potential distress experienced by people living with a life-limiting illness is essential. Full training and support will be given, in order to set you up for success in this role, including regular training events and ongoing supervision.

For further information, send me an email telling me why you would make a great Life Reviewer.
