Home Visitor for Young Families (North Shore)

We are seeking kind, caring individuals on the North Shore to work with new parents who are needing extra support. Duties may include helping families with practical day-to-day tasks including light housework, basic meal preparation and laundry. Offering emotional support, modelling positive parenting and facilitating positive change as well as linking families with community activities and services.

As well as training you will be supported by regular contact with the programme coordinator. We also have regular meetings where volunteers can share ideas and experiences and support each other.

This programme is operating across the North Shore. We are looking for people to work in the Beach Haven area and surrounding suburbs as well as other North Shore locations.

Requirements:

Training will be provided but experience in parenting or experience with babies is required. A kind, empathetic and non-judgemental nature needed for this role.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

We expect the role to take 2 to 3 hours of your time per week. Dates and times are negotiated with the family depending on your availability. Initial training takes 3 to 4 hours.
