Are you a super sleuth who loves to help people?
The Citizens Advice Bureau Waitakere needs new volunteers across our five branches. You would be meeting with people who need advice and guidance across a whole range of issues. Over decades of helping people, we already have a huge knowledge base of answers to many questions – but we’ve also learned to expect the unexpected, and to have to do a little sleuthing to find answers to questions we haven’t encountered before.
About the CAB
The CAB provides non-judgemental, confidential advice on all kinds of matters ranging from basic skills training, food banks and counselling right through to employment matters, tenancy disputes and even figuring out the family court. Our role is to connect clients with the relevant services to help them resolve their issues. Full training is provided so that you can help us to continue our valuable service to our community.
• Be comfortable communicating in English.
• Have an interest in people, information, and issues.
• Be able to use a computer to search for answers.
• Be willing to commit to one 4-hour duty per week.
• Be able to attend initial training and be keen for ongoing training.
Our service is provided to the public from each of our five West Auckland branches by volunteers. Once you have completed training you will attend one morning or afternoon duty per week at your chosen branch. As the training can take some months we request a commitment of a minimum of 6 months.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
