President of Committee
The President provides leadership and oversight to the RDA group and committee, ensuring the organisation operates effectively and continues to achieve its goals within the community. The President works collaboratively with the committee, participates in sub-committees where appropriate, and supports and encourages all committees to perform successfully.
The role is part of a friendly, inclusive, and enjoyable environment, backed by a highly experienced and long-standing committee. Together, the committee is supported by New Zealand Riding for the Disabled, providing a strong foundation for effective governance and community impact
The ideal candidate will have experience in governance, board, or committee leadership, with a proven ability to foster collaboration, engagement, and commitment among committee members. They will be an effective communicator and relationship builder, capable of representing the organisation within the wider community in a professional, approachable, and positive manner.
Committee meetings are held at Totara Park Equestrian Centre at 7:00pm on Wednesday evenings, with nine meetings scheduled each year.
The group operates during school terms only, with riding sessions held on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 1:00pm. While attendance at these sessions is not required as part of the President’s role, spending time at the centre in the early stages is encouraged, as it provides valuable insight into our programmes, participants, volunteers, and the impact of our work.
