Board Members - Relationship Development with Iwi

We are looking for a new Board member to lead a new project developing relationships with Iwi, Hapu and Roopu with the intention of forming partnerships. Contribute to the strategic direction of Mothers Helpers, using your set of skills, networks and experience. This is an exciting time for Mothers Helpers as we provide more services to more women across Aotearoa who are experiencing Perinatal Depression/Anxiety. 75% of these women will not meet the criteria for Maternal Mental Health and two-thirds will experience delayed diagnosis and treatment. We are working hard to address these gaps, and we are looking for people committed to this cause to join us in leading the way. Sadly, with suicide being the leading cause of maternal deaths in Aotearoa, Maori are highly represented in these statistics. We want that to change, and want to work closely with Maori to make that change.

Requirements:

We are looking for a skilled volunteer with strong networks to build relationships between Mothers Helpers and Iwi, Hapu and Roopu across Aotearoa. Preference for someone with some ability to speak Te Reo, and with strong leadership and communication skills.

When applying for this role please forward CV and cover letter.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Successful applicants would be required to commit 8 or more hours per month to this role as it requires networking and preparation of reports (which can be verbal) in addition to the actual meetings. Meetings would be held monthly on a Wednesday evening 7:00pm to 8:30pm (sometimes a 7:30pm start) once per month either in person in a central Auckland location or online using Zoom or Microsoft Teams or similar.

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
