Retail Assistant
We are looking for Retail Assistants for all of our hospice stores in Takanini, Howick, Pakuranga and The Gardens, Manurewa. We are also opening up a new Store soon here on site at our Tōtara Hospice Hub in The Gardens, called The 2nd Edition - exciting times!
The Retail Assistant role involves :
- customer service
- cash handling and use of EFTPOS
- preparing donated items for sale
- hanging, sizing, steaming and labeling
- rotating stock
- keeping the shop clean and tidy.
When you join our friendly team, we will provide all the training you need, you will work as part of a team with other volunteers and our shop managers are there to advise and assist you.

The ideal applicant will have an interest in people and in providing customer service in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner. Have a flexible attitude and have the ability to take on varied tasks. A team player who is able to take direction while also showing initiative and able to work independently. Must have understanding and respect for our multicultural community. There is light lifting involved and you will be on your feet for a reasonable length of time during a shift. Training will be on the job.
As the role involves cash handling and eftpos a Police Vet Check check is required.

Retail volunteer shifts are usually 3 or 4 hours once a week but we are flexible with the amount of time that you are able to give us. There are shifts available in all of our shops and they include weekdays and weekends.
