Mentors for Youth/Children of Prisoners
Pillars works with families and children who have a loved one in prison. We are looking for mentors to join our team. As a mentor you will spend time with a child of a prisoner for a few hours fortnightly, giving these children new opportunities.
Through our mentoring program, you will support crime-free futures, benefiting not only the children themselves but also impacting their families and the communities around them.

Our mentors see our mentees once a fortnight for minimum of a year. Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou also puts on multiple mentoring events throughout the year, where you can meet other mentors and the children meet other young people just like them. You will also attend monthly supervisions with other mentors, receiving support, education, and advice throughout your mentoring journey.
We require.
- A full NZ drivers license and access to a car.
- Police check
We expect the role to take up 2-6 hours fortnightly and are looking for a long term commitment.
