Drivers

The role involves picking up elderly guests from their home and dropping them off at their local centre, and at the end of the session take them home again. Some guests may need light assistance with helping down stairs or support walking to the car. If drivers can only do one way we would still welcome their help. We are looking for the following areas: Mairangi Bay - Monday; Albany and Birkenhead - Tuesday; Red Beach - Wednesday; Belmont, Glenfield and Stanmore Bay - Thursday..

Our organisation strives to improve the quality of life of isolated and vulnerable elderly by providing weekly companionship, social interaction, games, outings and physical activities at centres located in the North Shore and Hibiscus Coast areas.

Requirements:

Clean NZ drivers licence, own vehicle which is registered with an up to date warrant of fitness is required. Preferred qualities: Empathy with older and disabled people along with reliability and punctuality.
Vaccination against COVID-19 will be required for this role (note that agreement to be vaccinated is acceptable if you are not yet scheduled for vaccination)

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Once per week, during school term time, dropping off guests at our centre for a 10:00am start and taking them home again at the end of the session at 12:30pm. Not required during school holidays.
