When its time to say Goodbye

Saying "goodbye" is a stage in the volunteer life cycle journey. Well managed, it is an opportunity to celebrate service and achievements and open the way for the volunteer to stay involved with the organisation. Whether its the volunteer making this decision or the organisation, there are steps to take to help make it a positive experience.

Key Speaker: Cheryll Martin QSO
Cheryll is the General Manager of Volunteering Auckland and has nearly 30 years experience in facilitating training in volunteer management practices at Volunteering Auckland. She has many years of experience as a volunteer and a volunteer leader before becoming GM of Volunteering Auckland and was awarded a Queens Service Order for her services to volunteering.

We will discuss:

  • How do you say 'Farewell' to volunteers (positively) and leave the door open?
  • How can we ensure a good goodbye?
