Student Volunteer Week 2018
From April 16-22, Student Volunteer Week (SVW) 2018 will celebrate the large population of student volunteers in New Zealand and encourage more students to get involved with volunteering. This week is an opportunity to explore the benefits of volunteering such as the enriching experiences, meaningful education and valuable employment opportunities.
SVW appreciates, motivates and mobilises young volunteers by enabling collaboration between volunteer-involving organisations, educational institutions and students. Throughout the week universities and schools nationwide will host a wide variety of events, activities and awareness raising campaigns that will help in connecting skilled and willing volunteers with organisations in need.
The theme for SVW 2018 is ‘give, grow, inspire’. The aim is to encourage students to give time to help the community, grow new skills through volunteering and inspire others to do the same.
