MoVA: Engaging Youth in your Volunteer Programmes

Auckland is faced with an encouraging challenge: Young people are increasingly wanting to contribute to their communities through volunteering. As an NGO how are we to engage effectively with this new resource of passionate, enthusiastic young people.

With the aging of our volunteer work force what do we need to do to attract young people to our organisation. What are young people looking for in an opportunity. Is your organisaiton 'youth-friendly' for engaging our young people as volunteers.

This forum will give some background to some of the identified issues and barriers from an NGO perspective to engaging well with youth.

A panel of 'experts' in working with youth in an NGO setting will discuss as well as answer questions on engaging youth in your volunteer programmes.
