UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and your CSR programme

5 Apr 2017 | EVP

Our next corporate networking event is on Wednesday 10th May at 4.00pm to 5.30pm in CBD Auckland.

Our guest speaker is John Stansfield who is an expert in community development and one of the few qualified facilitators in NZ on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. John will give us an overview of the 17 Goals which aim to be reached by 2030 and how these are relevant to our CSR initiatives, including corporate volunteering.

This is a great opportunity to come and learn as well as share your own ideas and network with others in the CSR space. The event is free to financial Members of Volunteering Auckland but non-Members can attend for a small fee, so please spread the word and invite your colleagues and networks.

Interestingly, this article about How Skills-based volunteering creates transformational experiences linked in with the UN Global goals so the mentoring experience achieved Goal #4 relating to education and life-long learning. This gives food for thought as to how all our CSR initiatives and volunteering could be linked to one or several of the Goals.

Was it a meaningful and worthwhile skills-based volunteering activity for our office? In reflecting on the entire process, from the planning stage to saying goodbye to the students, we felt that the activity was mutually beneficial.

Please contact Caroline Wearn for more details.
