In Memoriam...

5 Aug 2013 | Volunteer Trends

It was with sadness that we learnt of two passings since our last e-newsletter.

Dame Barbara Goodman was our Patron from January 1993 until September 2010. Mayor Len Brown said, "She was a great Aucklander who paid a significant role in the civic life of this city and played an pivotal role in a variety of community causes. She was respected by everyone, independent and feisty, and committed to the causes she supported.” Dame Barbara was a strong supporter of volunteering to make a difference in our communities.

Murray Neilson was the manager of Volunteer Whanganui from May 2009 until his untimely passing last week. A gentle giant of a man who cared deeply about his role in promoting and supporting volunteering in the Whanganui area.

Haere, Haere, Haere, e hoa. Moe mai, moe mai, moe mai.
