EV Programme

16 Jul 2014 | EVP

Through our Employee Volunteering Programme we have more than doubled volunteer placements compared with last year. This means double the great work being carried out in the community by employee volunteers.

We have placed over 1,300 of our Corporate Member staff in community projects, which equates to over 6000 hours of voluntary time contributed to our Not for Profit Members.

Some of the great results that have been achieved this past year include the preparation and painting of two class rooms at a special needs school in Mt Roskill; over 2,700 hours of employee volunteer time spent working toward the conservation of Auckland’s natural environment; three workshops run by skilled volunteers, building the internal capacity of our Not for Profit Members; and over 850 hours of volunteer time contributed toward ensuring that families have basic needs such as housing and food.

We have welcomed seven new corporate members to the programme this year and continue to work with all members to grow giving culture through communications, events, and placement services.

If you are a not for profit member and would like to have a team come and complete a one day community project with your organisation contact our EVP Coordinator, Kym Burke.

I find that volunteer work not only makes me happy for a long time, but also makes me feel better about myself.
