National Volunteer Week

16 Jun 2019 to 22 Jun 2019

National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week (NVW) 2019 will be held from 16 to 22 June.

NVW2019 is a great opportunity for your organisation to highlight what volunteers do to help you. It is also a great opportunity to highlight the opportunities you have for volunteers to get involved!

This year’s theme is ... “Whiria te tangata – weaving the people together”

National Volunteer Week celebrates the collective contribution of the 1.2 million volunteers who enrich Aotearoa New Zealand.

Volunteering, Mahi Aroha and social action weave people and communities together. Join us this National Volunteer Week to stand together in our differences and choose to connect.

Now more than ever, as a volunteering community we commit to manaakitanga and whakawhanaungatanga. We commit to caring, and to building meaningful, enduring and inclusive relationships across our differences, and to make space for diverse voices.

Join us this National Volunteer Week to stand together in our differences and choose to connect.

How to get involved:
Help us highlight the value of volunteering - Tell the stories of how your volunteers are making a difference!

Post a message of appreciation on your organisation’s website - Tell us how many volunteers you have on Twitter or post on Facebook (tag @VolunteeringAKL)

Share photos from a volunteering project on our Facebook page @VolunteeringAKL
