Social media and Website management support
We are currently in a growth phase and building our capacity to match more young people across Auckland with a mentor. We are looking for support to grow our online presence and brand awareness. So within this role we want your help to create effective social media campaigns, build recruitment for mentors and manage our current website to stay relevant and up to date,
What is Big Brothers Big Sisters?
We are a community-based mentoring programme that helps young people to increase their confidence, develop a greater sense of belonging, and aspire to greatness. The majority of the young people who come through the Big Brothers Big Sisters programme are looking for positive adult role models outside of their existing support structures.
A young person aged 6-12 is matched with an adult volunteer based on personality, shared interests, and geographic location. Once a week, for a minimum of a year, the mentor meets with the young person to spend time together – cooking, going to the beach, playing sport – the possibilities are endless.
Community-based mentoring through the Big Brothers Big Sisters model is proven to make a lasting, positive impact in the life of a young person.
We endeavor to provide the framework for positive, enduring friendships that change the lives of the people involved.
This is where you come in, we are hoping to find someone who has the skills and capacity to join our small team to make a big impact in the lives of tamariki. Our young people face adversity but Big Brothers Big Sisters provides them with a stable adult who is focused on building them up. This has a long-lasting effect on their lives and we hope to reach many more who need someone in their corner, with your help!
We are looking for someone with a passion for people and supporting their community.
- Ideally someone with social media and websites; however if you are passionate and whiling to learn get in touch.
- Creative in design for posts and collateral design
- Great in a team and child-centric environment!
5 hours a week (Flexibility with timing and more or less maybe need as you dive in.)
We are based in Greenlane so there is flexibility to work in the office or at home.
