Counsellor

We are seeking a Counsellor to support our East Auckland community’s well-being who would be available to meet with our clients and provide an hourly session. Ideally the Counsellor would welcome adults from all walks of life and diverse cultures, working one-to-one. We also offer counselling sessions via Zoom if client is unable to attend in person (booked in advance and during regular appointment hours). Client expectations of these sessions would be:
• Share challenges and problems - feel safe and heard
• Gain insight and perspective - make sense of emotions and thoughts
• Discover a way forward – develop tools and coping skills that can be drawn on right now and when other challenges arise

Requirements:

It is expected that the Counsellor has a minimum level of membership to NZ Association of Counsellors or that they would be a Provisional Member covered by a code of ethics and also have ongoing supervision.

Time commitment:

Hours of work – as mutually agreed ideally a 2 x 1-hour session either weekdays or Saturday mornings.
