Assistant Volunteer Coordinator

This is a voluntary position in a small charitable organisation run completely by volunteers. The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator works closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, maintain, and mentor volunteers in one or two elder care home(s) in Epsom and/or Albany. Duties include but are not limited to interviewing volunteers and supporting volunteers on their first shift(s), and facilitating volunteer get-togethers. The successful candidate(s) will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support from the current Volunteer Coordinator.

Requirements:

The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator should have a passion for volunteering, and would ideally have previous experience volunteering in an elder care facility. This role would suit a student or part-time worker with flexibility and availability to conduct volunteer and care home meetings on weekdays. Successful candidates will gain extremely useful experience in managing people and networking applicable to a variety of career pathways. A full position description is available on request.

Time commitment:

Approximately 3-5 hours per week.
