Interviewer at our Orakei Branch

We are looking for Interviewers to join the Eden Albert team at the moment, although other locations around the Central Auckland Isthmus might also be available.

  • CAB Interviewers work in a small team on a regular weekly shift, and directly contribute to the wellbeing of local community members.
  • We provide a free, confidential, impartial service to all individuals, informing them of their rights, responsibilities and options in a wide range of circumstances.
  • We provide training, including both workshops and mentoring, for our Interviewers.
  • Our clients are very diverse, and contact us face to face, by phone or email.
Requirements:

Ideally you can continue to volunteer for two years or more. We put a lot of effort into Interviewer training and therefore want you to continue to volunteer regularly with us for as long as possible.

  • Interviewers need excellent communication skills, written and oral, in English.
  • Good computer literacy is required.
  • It is also very useful to be conversational in additional languages
  • Ideal interviewers are able to follow CAB processes, be motivated to provide a high level of service, and give and receive feedback.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Initial training can be two or more days a week for several weeks, then a regular shift of up to 4 hours per week.
Most shifts are weekdays, but some branches are also open on Saturdays.
The entire Interviewer team is made up of volunteers, and understandably they will want to take leave from time to time. We expect all team members to cover the occasional extra shift so that our service can continue without disruption.

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
