Financial Mentor - East Auckland
Financial mentors provide a one-on-one service focused on financial wellbeing. This is a very fulfilling role. You will work alongside a person and whānau, building trust and understanding the complexity of their needs, empowering them to get control of their money. You will provide financial mentoring to those who may have temporarily encountered financial hardship and need support to empower them to work towards a healthier financial future. The work our mentors do ensures improved financial capability and healthier situations for many for individuals and families.
Confidence and accuracy with numbers and an aptitude with budgeting and financial planning – you may have previous financial mentor experience, however full training can be provided.
Strong communications skills including written correspondence, oral presentations and confidence to negotiate on behalf of others.
Highly effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, and sometimes in stressful situations.
Commitment to work with a strengths-based and client-centred approach.
Understanding and appreciation of te ao Māori (Māori worldview).
Willingness to work as a team to achieve outcomes for our clients and community.
We are looking for someone to commit between 10 -20 hours per week.
