Pet Therapy/Animal companionship

CHT St John’s, located in Epsom, is looking for volunteers to help enhance the lives of our residents by sharing their animal companions. Affection and regular visitation of an animal can make a difference in both the physical and emotional health of our residents because animals don't judge or criticise, they treat everyone equally. They aren’t shocked by human ailments, frailties, handicaps and confusion and they can reduce the stress and fears associated with illness or old age. BUT most of all they offer unconditional love and friendship.

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have a dog that is at least a year old
Must be able to commit to scheduled visits for up to 2 hours a month.
Must have own means of transport
Must be able to pass a police check

A Police background check is required for this role.
